**STUDIO GUIDELINE 01**

# Ethics & Sustainability

*The public sentence and the bench habit must be the same sentence.*

Handmade sterling and gold pieces are formed in the studio. They may contain both metal recovered by hand from lawful ground and purchased metal melted with it. We do not claim a piece is entirely field-recovered unless that batch was kept separate.

## Purpose
This guideline tells anyone working the bench, the shop listings, or the website which claims Unique Perspective 8 will stand behind. It is the written form of ethics.html.

## Copper
- Recycled copper wire is used on Morgan's handmade studio work only.
- Do not print this claim on drop-shipped or other catalog items.

## Gold and silver
- Studio gold and silver are melted and formed by hand.
- A piece may hold field-recovered metal and purchased grain, scrap, or wire in the same melt.
- Call a piece entirely field-recovered only when that melt was kept off purchased stock and a record exists.

## Everything else
- Drop-shipped goods are labeled in the shop and sit outside these studio claims.
- If a listing does not say it is handmade in this studio, do not attach this guideline to it.

## Free Miner Certificate
Morgan holds a Free Miner Certificate in British Columbia. That certificate is standing to seek mineral and placer rights and to do limited exploration. It is not a mine permit, not a claim, and not proof that every object in the shop came from the field.

## Separate-batch rule
1. A melt is kept separate only if purchased stock did not enter that pot.
2. Write the date, the source note, and a mark that will travel with the finished piece.
3. If the only record is memory, use the mixed-metal sentence. Do not use the stronger claim.
